Goal And Target
GOAL
The main aim of the department is to train specialists who are knowledgeable about the theory and practice in Public Finance, endowed with knowledge, technical information, scientific methods, as well as necessary psychological, political, sociological and economic perspectives. Having this purpose in mind, the department offers comprehensive and high quality education opportunity to our students thanks to classes that cover topics in public goods, public revenues and expenditures, budget, social welfare state, fiscal law, fiscal policy, welfare economics and public choice. We also aim to make contribution to national and international literature on public finance.
TARGET
Graduates of the Public Finance Program may find jobs in mainly public sector, but they have also many job opportunities in private sector. In public sector, for example, they may be employed as inspector, auditor and specialist in the Ministry of Public Finance, Social Security Administrations, State Planning Organization, The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey and Independent Regulatory Authorities. In private sector, they can also work as specialist, auditor, manager, and consultant especially in the accounting departments of firms.
