Goal And Target

Mission of Biology Department The mission of Biology Department of Institute of Natural Science of Trakya University is i) to give biology education and to produce graduate and PhD thesis matching international standards within the scope of graduate training programs, ii) to publish all acknowledged thesis in international indexed journals, iii) to train well-qualified science experts and PhD’s with modern scientific theoretical and practical knowledge that would be used in production of technology and new scientific data.

The vision of Biology Department is to; - have each associate to be a coordinator of at least one research project supported by national sources (i.e. TÜBİTAK, DPT, BAP), - be involved at least one European Union project, - have associates to have at least one published paper per year, - have master and PhD students to be equipped with advanced English and computer knowledge when they graduate, - carry out research projects, in cooperation with industial companies, considering that national industrial needs, - establish biological collections by determining fungal, plant, animal and microorganism biodiversity in the country with phenotipic, biochemical and molecular techniques and to be a referance laboratory in this field, and - be a leading department in scientific development of both the university and the country by employing a qualified teaching program, producing international level scientific data and by following scientific developments over the world and producing contributory data to these developments.
