Goal And Target

The Department of International Relations firstly aims to provide its students basic information about the area and the ability to make analytical comments. In this context, highly dynamic structure and function of international system, behaviors and relations of actors, international political issues and Turkey's regional policies and relations especially in the EU and the Balkans are evaluated in a historical perspective and it is also aimed to provide the students with true date and to make them produce objective information by the help of gathered date. Courses given in the department are designed for this purpose in the perspective of creating interdisciplinary program.

The Discipline of International Relations analyzes the structure and function of the international system; the behaviors and relations of the states and international organizations and non-state actors in the system. Despite the discipline 's being relatively a new field, the importance of the discipline is increasing day by day. In the process of globalization ; political, social, economic and cultural changes are occurred in the world. In parallel with these changes, international issues are getting more complex and unresolved. Wherever they occur, the changes, problems and relevant foreign policy decisions within the frame of information technology developments influence almost everybody. In this context, examining and comprehensively analyzing the regional and global changes and their results is a necessity for the discipline of International Relations.
