Goal And Target
GOAL
In 1998, within the frame of the reform of Education Faculties in Turkey, Computer Education and Instructional Technologies Departments were founded by The Council of Higher Education of the Republic of Turkey (YÖK). Computer Education and Instructional Technologies Department started education in 1998. The teaching staff of the department is comprised of a professor, 4 assistant professors, 5 instructors and 2 research assistants. The department is governed by one department head and two deputy department heads. The basic aim of the department is to equip students, with up-to-date knowledge about computer and other information technologies, required for K-12 computer teachers. Students of the department can be employed in public or private schools taking part in The Ministry of National Education, as teachers, instructional technologists, or academicians in universities.
TARGET
This programme intends to include all kinds of practical and theoretical aspects of the field of study and it aims to equip students with theoretical and practical background on instructional technology so that they serve as efficient K-12 computer teachers, instructional technologists and designers who can analyze learning needs, design instruction, develop training materials, implement training and evaluate the effectiveness of instructional products.
