To acquire the skill of caring surgical patients by synthesizing information from biological, psychological, social, ethical, and behavioral sciences.

To use nursing process in determining the overall health status and needs of surgical patients.

In the care of the surgical patients, to set priorities, to perform the appropriate care, to prevent complications that may occur, to understand the importance of care.

To ensure the participation of care and the correct decision of the patients and their family, taking advantage of the basic concepts and principles related to education by giving neceessary information and explanations.

For raising the quality of surgical patient care, adoption of doing continuus education and research, to benefit from a high level of technological possibilities.

To grasp the importance of interdisciplinary communication and cooperation and to reflect the application.

Before-during-after surgery, to plan, implement, assess, record and report the appropriate nursing interventions related to care of the surgical patients.

To acquire wound care skills.

To get knowledge related to surgical interventions and treatments of surgical diseasesof all systems and to use that for caring of patients.

In emergency, elective and daily surgery, counseling and guidance to patients and their families.
