The Aim of the course:
The aim of the course is to introduce the coins minted in the Italian Peninsula especially in the Roman Republic and the Empire period.
Course Content:
The Geography of the Italian Peninsula, the Establishment of Rome, the Kingdom Period, the Spread of Rome in Italy and the Mediterranean, First Coin Mining in the Italian Peninsula and Sicily, Roman Republic Period Coins, Coins of the Julius-Claudius Dynasty (Augustus, Tiberius), Coins of the Iulius-Claudius Dynasty (Caligula, Claudius, Nero), Coins of the Year of the Four Emperors (Galba, Otho, Vitellius), Coins of the Year of the Four Emperors (Galba, Otho, Vitellius), Flavius Dynasty Coins (Vespasianus, Titus, Domitianus), Nerva, Trajan, Hadrian's Coins, Coins of the Antoninus Dynasty (Antoninus Pius, Marcus Aurelius, Commodus), Severus Dynasty Coin (Septimius Severus, Caracalla, Elagabalus, Severus Alexander), Coins of the Constantine Dynasty (Constantine I and his successors), Coins of the Valentinian Dynasty (Valentinian I and his successors)
