The Aim of the course:

The goals of this class is to determine the contributions of bioarcheological finds in understanding of archaeological societies and to show ways to obtain this data.

Course Content:

What is bioarchaeology? What are the related disiplines? Skeletal biology. Age estimation of infants and children and their importance in bioarcheological studies. . Gender and age estimation of adults and their use in bioarcheological studies. Excavation methods of graves and skeletons. Paleodemograph and Paleopathology. DNA and Isotope analyses, Gender research in an archaeological context.
